Billboard publishes its first pop-music chart for albums on this day in 1945. The first No. 1 album was Nat King Cole's King Cole Trio
Elvis Presley is inducted into the army on this day in 1958. Although he had been drafted the previous December, the army granted him a deferral so he could finish shooting his film, King Creole.

I'm liking 1979!! The 70's were great!
Those were the days when music, was actually music and pleasant to listen to. These days it's a rarity anything comes out that improves on what we used to hear. (Hugs) Indigo
