Interesting you put TMI on here - living within range of this wretched plant we, the public, were just told of an "incident" that happened last summer for the first time. Some reports said it was minor while others report it was serious. I recall the 1979 accident at TMI as though it were yesterday. I fully believe it isn't a question of IF another accident will occur at TMI, it is just a question of WHEN. My stepdads best friend was an engineer in the plant when it happened and he told a different story than what they released to the public. He has since died of cancer.

Hey, you missed one:
1957....Carol was born. ROFLMAO!!!
I really do remember my b-day in 1979 because my sister who lives in NJ was VERY pregnant with my nephew. My friends were bringing a keg into my apt. for my b-day party, when the phone rang and it was my sister calling to wish me a happy birthday. I remember her being all upset and she told me about the Three-mile Island accident and was especially concerned because of her pregnancy, etc. and the proximity of PA and NJ. Anyhoo, my nephew was born on April 1 (poor thing - that's another whole story, LOL), and luckily, the accident wasn't worse than it was!!!! OMG, I can't believe my nephew is gonna be 29 in a couple of days!!!! GAH That's almost worse than ME being 51....lol.
Hugs,
:) Carol
great thing about HIS story is that you never really know its just stories to us.
