HELLO J-LAND FRIENDS!

Hello Friends!
I am so sorry I have been AWoL for such a time.  The History entries are taking more time than I thought and although I really like reading and doing them it seems as my journaling is suffering.

What is Going On?

My health...

I get so tired of seeing specialist then finding out I need to see another specialist.   Last week, I went to the Neurologist for the pain and swelling in my legs.  Neuro Doc said it was a irreversible side effect of my heart medicine.  He checked the my hands as I have been having a problem with "trembles" & weakness.    He thinks it Carpal tunnel and wanted me to have nerve conduction tests on my arms and hands.

Eariler this month I saw the Gastrointerologist and handed over 50 bucks.  Neuro Guy .... fifty bucks.  So I asked how much the Nerve conduction test was going to cost me...100 bucks.
Nope, I pass.   With the Rhuematoid Arthritis  wouldn't have surgery so IF I have Carpel Tunnel just Write it in my chart and close it.

The woman at the desk I believe was the Dr's Wife.  She got such an attitude when I told her that I couldn't do it, I couldn't afford it.   My Rheumotolgist does Nerve Conduction  Studies at his office and He doesn't charge Me more than Medicare pays because he wants me to have Medical Care.  Should have Seen the Neuro Doc's wife whe I told her that.
She looked like she sucked a lemon!

My friend, Sandy and I went looking for Air Conditioners for my trailer last Thursday.  My little place was hit by Lightening a few years ago and shorted out the wiring to the Fan of the Air Conditoning Unit on top of the trailer.  I had bought a 5,000 btu Air Conditioner, But it hasn't benn doing  a very good job.
It's not all that hot yet & my Living room Temperture has climbed to an uncomfortable 88 degrees.
It's actually cooler Outdoors than inside this Tin Box!

We went to the small Walmart around the corner, Famous Tate's, Macy's Clearance Center in Tampa, Home Depot, the super Walmart in Oldsmar.  Sandy and hubby went to Lowe's on Saturday.  The biggest bang for the buck was Home Depot.  A 10, 000 btu's for $199.  Sandy's hubby is going to remove the small one I have and install the larger one.  And I'll see if it cools the living area and bedroom.  If not we'll install the smaller one in my bedroom window.

Remember my marvelous grill?  Well, it stopped working after the 3rd or 4th time I used it.  So Sandy & I took that back to Walmart and I got another...same style.  There are quite a few people in the park that have ones identical to mine and have no problems.
Marc put it together for me Saturday and it is Marvelous!

I also bought a printer/scanner.  Got it home, found a compatible USB cable, plug, plug...hmmm, no plug to plug into the electrical receptacle.  so tomorrow the printer is being returned.
I stripped the Gears on My mouse so I also purchsed a new one of those, too.

Sandy has started keeping the receipts from my purchases because honestly between receipts from all the doctors I go to and my new big buys I can't keep my shit together.  She says I need to find myself a man to take care of me.

Another thing going on is I am in the middle of purging the trailer.  Some may call it Spring house cleaning.  A pile of clothes to go to Charity.  A pile for storage until winter.  And ...hmmm, forgot what the 3rd pile is.

Oh yeah, clothes for this summer!  When I got to the back of my closest today I found a few skirts from my dancing days....size 5-6.  OMG, what a teeny tiny waist I had.  I know I will never dance like that again.  But I left 2 of the skirts hanging.  Maybe to show my future grandchildren how teeny their grandma was.  LOL.  I know I'm not fat...just not like I was.  I may not have that teeny tiny waist anymore, but baby I got boobs  now!

sorry to hear about your health problems , i am going through the same thing with the doctors , they think everybody has money and insurance, my doctor knows i won't go to him unless i have to and gets mad about it.
I go 4 xs a year and he don't charge me for the office visits anymore.
I think they all are feeling the pinch now, it seems that their greed caught up to them.

Bethe
Sorry the doc thinks the swelling and pain in your legs is irreversible.  Did he prescribe any medication to lesson the symptoms?  I agree about nerve conditioning tests.  It always amazes me how smug some of these receptionists seem when they are told one can't afford a procedure.  I's glad you mentioned you had a doctor that charged only what medicare paid because he was actually interested in your health.  As we get deeper into this recession maybe she will chew on that tidbit for a while.  Glad you have a bigger air conditioner now, I hope it does the job.  Good luck getting a scanner with all the necessary items packed in the box.  It was great reading a newsy entry, although the history ones are enjoyable.

I disagree with finding a man to take care of you!  You're are one of the most self reliant women I know!!

Enjoy your day and your new air conditioner.

Hahaha...you don't need a man, Bethe...you need a file folder!! LOL If only life were that simple.

Sorry to hear about all the doctor's bills and hassles with that. Typical managed care crapola, eh?

Sounds like you have plenty of other things to spend your money on, AC being the number one most important one IMHO!! The first house Rob and I bought together down here had one air conditioner stuck in the wall of the living room. The AC only made it the 10 feet to the couch and that was IT. We set up fans to try to move the air into the bedroom. It didn't work. I remember giving Rob an ultimatum....either we get central heat and air or I'm moving back into my apartment!! LOL He worked at an HVAC company at the time and made that happen for us. Now he owns a commercial AC company....

Anyway, good luck with yours, Bethe!!!! Sounds like a great deal on that 10,000 BTU!!!

Hugs,
Carol

Sometimes I think some docs just dont get that it is expensive to us regular folks to go to the doctor. I like the way you put that, she sucked on a lemon thing..lol...laughed at that. I hope you get to feeling better anyway. Get that AC in girl, its gonna be hot in no time. You got to have refuge from that Florida humidity and heat. I like it as much as the next, but I like the AC too! :) Hugs, Kelly

I hope you get all the health things sorted and not have to part with any more cash. I love the Idea of keeping the skirts to show the granchildren how their grandma fitted Into them. My, what a tiny waist. My mum still has her wedding dress and It Is unbelievable the size. I'm pretty sure It Is a 23" waist which Is very small! lol. Love Pam xx

Goodness, Bethe, I hope you find out what's going on with your health.  LOL...I'd have loved to have seen the dr's wife's face.  You're probably depriving her of a Botox injection.  A 5,000 BTU AC unit is for a tiny room.  I have one in a 9 X 9 bedroom.  The one in my family room is 18,000 BTU'S and cools my whole downstairs.  They usually give you room measurements on the boxes.  You also have to consider how darned hot Florida is.  The 10,000 should work with the 5,000 in your bedroom window.  Dang, I sound like I work for Home Depot.  Love ya, Chris
