UGGG! What a day! I awoke for the 5th day in a row with another migraine. Since I can't take those drugs they now have out for migraines because they tighten my carotid arteries resulting in feeling of choking. I took a Valium, along with my usual Motrin, and Neurotin.
Then feel asleep until almost 10 am. So I threw on a T-shirt & overalls for the "Chore of the Day" which envolves scrubbing the black mildew and green algae off the roof.
I threw the push broom up to the top of the trailer. Missed an it wen all the way over to the other side. Borrowed a ladder, and trying to extend it, it kept flipping ove my head with my head between the wrungs. LOL! I carryied a bucket with bleach and soap to mix with water once I got up there. The hose I had attched to a rope to hoist it up.
I usually wear sneakers when I am up there and since the roof is rubber it has always been dangerously slippery. Today I wore a pair of Sperry Boat Flip Flops. What a difference!
No slipping, no sliding. I am in love with Sperry's!
Had a few problems. Ass hole neighbor lady on my right came over when I was moving my plants, to avoid soaking with soap and bleach from above, to complain they could get their motor home in and out. I waited and listened to what she had to say.
I asked if she was leaving.
Again she whined (actually whined) that the palms on my patio were going to be hit by her motor home.
Me thinks~Hmmm, if she is that close to my plants, isn't she trying park on my patio?
Again I asked if she and her husband were going anywhere, "I'm only going to wash the roof".
Apparently, she could only think abouthow moving my plants affected her. Because the whining persisted until I raised my voice a little. I told her "I am a good neighbor, I only wanted to wash my roof".
"Ohhhh", she whined, "why didn't you say you were going to wash your roof?"
Grrrr!!!

Went down to Walgreen's to get Benedryl, Cortisone Cream, and Prednisone for Jasmine. Vet say she has allergies. And he thought it was fleas. I think al the scratching and biting is because she sits in the grass unning herself.
She loves it (who wouldn't) but, the itchng!!
In the past when I took Jaz to the Vet, he charged me 50 bucks for the office visti and $24.00 for the Medrol, a steroid. Now I know how much prednisone costs and it's only a few dollars at the Walgreens.
So I save myself 75 bucks and tackled the problem myself.

When I got home there was a reddish brown dog running thru the RV Park. I called the office to tell the office manager. When I saw HillBilly Bobby a few minutes later he said the dog was long gone.
NOT!
Horny Red Brown Dog showed up again to check out Jazzy. He had a smiley face and wagged his tail and loved being pet.
Looked like a Sharpei, Chow, Pit Bull mix and luckily he had tags.
"Raymond" was the name on the tags, but he didn't come when I called this name. so I though Raymond maybe the owners name. Raymond is a wierd name for a dog in my opinion.
I called the number on the tag~voicemail~ Ugghh!
Left a message.
So then I called the Animal control number on the other tag and got his owners name and address and was warned to be careful.
Dog's name was Raymond~Tan Pit Bull~Bit someone October 2007.
So I kept him tied with Jazzy's rope gave him water and a shady place to rest. Since I now had the owners name I called again, then again. By now Raymond was barking a deep loud bark at everyone who walked by. I was finally able to get someone on the line & explained the dog needed to be picked up. The young guy on the other end asked me not to call animal control again. That that lady who owned him went to the grocery store. Hmmmm??
I called 1/2 hour later when he began to howl. Then called again 1/2 hour after that & another guy answered the phone. He explained to me he was going to shower then come and get the dog.
"Nooooooo....come get him NOW~My 300 close neighbors do not appreciate him howling and barking".
And I did not appreciate this male dog who obviously wasn't neutered watering my herbs and avocado plants : P
It' is why I have a female dog~Boys are gross!
I met the guy out by the parking lot next to the pool. Young guy. Raymond was happy to see him and jumped right into the car dragging me on the rope with. I told the guy he really needed to get he dog fixed to stop him from running AND he had a large tumor on is left leg. The young guy thanked me and bye-bye Raymond.
Oh, the name Raymond~that is my X's name.
See his tongue? I'm pretty sure he has Chow in him. With his ears up he definately looks Chow.
Although, in these pics he does look Pit.

looks like a moutain cur to me
I heard gatorade helps a migraine, but I have never tried it.
Maybe you should have tied the howling dog up to nosy neighbor lady's place. :) Wow, Chow AND Pit Bull in the same dog -- that could sure be a mean dog. I don't trust them AT ALL. They can turn on you in an instant for no apparent reason. I hope he doesn't come back, Bethe!!!
Is there a reason you don't use a once-a-month flea med. on Jazzy? Fleas used to be the biggest problem I had with INDOOR cats, so I can imagine the problems with outdoor dogs. I recently became a cat owner again and was thrilled that they now have flea meds that I put on the cats on the first of every month. I get an RX for Revolution from the vet and buy it from 1-800-Pet-meds. Anyway, we haven't had ONE flea on either cat and they both spend half the day outside on the lanai.
Good luck with Jaz -- hope the creams help!! And I hope your migraines break soon. I HATE them and I know how crippling they can be!!!
Hugs,
:) Carol
Poor dog! He does look like he has some chow in him. How in the world do you get up on your roof and clean it with your medical conditions? You must be super woman! LOL
Missie

Raymond looks like he'd be a good BF for Nala,LOL...but he seems too much of a playboy,LOL
I can see the pit bull in Raymond. Our friends actually have 2 pit bull mixes. Shadow looks just like Raymond but is brown. He's also the gentlest dog I've ever seen. I think it depends on the owners. Raymond seems a bit testy, hunh? Dang, Bethe, climbing on the roof with a migraine...yikes! Your neighbor sounds like a snowbird to me. HUGS Chris
Raymond is a handsome guy - what a shame to have such an irresponsible owner. You did great by Raymond ~ made me smile!!
xx
Lisa
You were a lot kinder in both situations (whiny neighbor and loose Raymond) than I ever would have been! :)
