Wind & Surf

Snag if you like...I haven't tried to tag animated things yet

Yesterday MamaSnowbird, my brother, Steve & I went for lunch at the Thristy Marlin.    Fifteen yrs I've lived in Florida.  Twice a year my brother comes.  In the fall he drives my mother her then takes a flight back to Newburgh, NY.  In the Spring, he flies down.  Never once had he been to a beach.  So while at lunch I convinced him that we needed to go out the Dunedin Causeway just to see the water.  Once we got to the end of the causeway I pulled 5 bucks out of my wallet for admission to Honeymoon Island State Park.

The wind was blowing strong & cold from the north and the waves were lashing at the white sand beach.  For surfers to be in the Gulf is unusual, but there were quite a few out there.  And one went for a long rough ride.

The tall white Condos of Clearwater Beach can easily bee seen across the waterway.  Clearwater Beach imports it's sand and spends millions doing so, and although pretty, it's just to look pretty.  The city gets upside down upset when the beach erosion occurs as the winds whip up.

Honeymoon Island Beach has it is all natural white sand.  I was looking for sand dollars which can be plentiful.  Yesterday, Steve and I were finding chunks of white coral with fossils of shells and sea critters.  One we did identify as a Nautilus.  Brother Steve is a Astro-Physist and so excited to gather up a few big chunks to take back to Middletown NYto show a Paleontologist friend.

Today Steve and MamaSnowbird went to Disney World for a few days.  I may or may not see them again before they head back to Middletown at the end of the week.  That's OK, although yesterday was pleasant enough I really don't want the stress of it all again.

does your mum live in midtown by herself or does she have help come in?
Hope you are well

When I was in Clearwater Beach sitting on the imported sand, I saw something leap out of the water and back in again.  I suppose it was a dolphin?  It wasn't large enough to be a whale.  I hope it wan't a shark.

Yeah, I have guests in from New Hampshire who LOVE the beach here even though they live across the street from the ocean. They always come in April and spend the whole time here on the beach over in Madeira or lolling by my pool. So far, though, they've had NO beach days....we're still hopeful for today, tomorrow or Friday. They leave Saturday!!

I'm glad you had some time with your bro and it went okay, Bethe. Take care!!

Hugs,
Carol

Sheesh, I read this and thought I had commented the other day.  I'm losing what mind I have left.  Is that one of your photo's, Bethe?  It's gorgeous.  I love the gulf in Florida.  Glad you got to visit with your brother but know what you mean about the stress.  HUGS CHris

Aww PRETTY. So ORANGE. lol... Writing the words in the water is not hard. It is much easier than all the other stuff you had to go through to get this animation. The thing is that Steph didn't get that far in the class. So proud of you, my friend!
