Balls with Bells

Week 3 ~ What I have learned

Kittens don't know that their tails are attached

Cats don't eat broccoli, even though they may think they want it just because the dog does

Ditto for carrots, rice and potato salad

Kittens think curtains are play things made for their own amusement

So are coffee tables

So are window screens

Laptop's mouse, cursor, and blinking lights are fun, too

Kitten legs have to grow at least 1 inch pover night

The reason they sell those little balls with bells in packages of 8 is because within 2 hours all 8 are under the refrigerator

A Swifter Duster is a great tool for getting said balls out from under the refrigerator along with dust bunnies & all those ant traps I shoved under there the past 8 yrs

Dogs prefer cat food

Cats prefer dog food

And with one flick of one tiny paw can extract 1 teeny tiny kibble to bat the around the kitchen (until it too ends up under the refrigerator)

Kittens will play with the dogs tail, but not the teeth

And lastly,

How DO kittens run with sideways, butt first?

My mom brought a kitten home we nickname it the bird because of his flying technique on the curtain.
One day mom came home and asked where the bird was I told her in the tree she was sitting on the porch calling the cat in a loud tone Here Birdie, birdie , birdie and the neighbors thought she was nuts when the cat came down the tree.

LOL.   Good to know if we ever aquire a kitten.  Our dog is so picky she won't touch a veggie...she wouldn't even look at a hot dog if it hit the floor.

Very amusing and very true.  One of the kittens I had used to wake me up in the morning by sitting on my chest and puching me in the nose with his little paw.

Enjoy this time and remember everything because they turn into cats so fast.  Cats are cool and I love mine, but the kitten times are so fun!

Thanks for the smile, I think your getting the hang of it. I learned a long time ago it didn't pay to have expensive curtains in my house. I think they mistakenly believe they are related to Tarzan. When she gets big enough, you might want to leave her dry food on the counter. She can jump up to it and the dog won't devour it in a blink of an eye. They all tend to be fascinated by those balls with the bells. I had a kitten I ended up attatching a bell to her collar, she loved it. (Hugs)Indigo

I'd say you have come a very long way with Maur'i.  She seems to have taken over your little abode and is now the Queen of the castle.  A rightful place for a cat to be...lol.  My kittens have all been placed in a permanent home...Hooray!!!

Hahaha...great entry, Bethe!!! I swear, when we move, we will find hundreds of those little plastic rings you pull off milk gallons to open them. The cats like those better than any toy I've ever purchased for them....and they are underneath every appliance and piece of furniture in this house!! LOL

Hugs,
Carol

This is great and right on, everything you said is applicable to every kitten and even some of my older cats!  I have toys, dollars and kibble underneath every small space in my home...stove, fridge, dressers etc.  I use one of those long wire things you use to get lint out of the dryer, never thought about a swiffer...gotta try that.  Glad you are having so much fun!
