HAPPY 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND!

Hi Everyone!

So sorry I've been AWOL lately.  I try not to complain much but I haven't been feeling so good.  My stomach has been turned inside out & upside down with these ulcers.  And I am nauseous all the time.  I had nausea.  When I went to the Rheumatolgist for my monthly visit & blood work the results showed that I am still terribly anemic with a Hb of 9.5 : /  It's supposed to be at least 12.0, but I'd be happy with an 11.

I tried to get and appointment with the Doc who did my EGD in May, but he doesn't have any appts until August 12th.  I'll call again Monday as I am feeling pretty yucky.

I joined a couple new groups.  The one here in AOL I joined a couple months ago~Angela and Shelly's Group and I was so surprised to see so many people that have already helped me with my learning.   Then after talking with Winivere and Joyce they joined as well.  YEA!

The other is a Learning PSP group thru Yahoo.  Although I was doing okay in some areas I was struggling.

The struggling reminded me of when I hadquit college after 2 yrs, moved into an apartment of my own, and was taking night courses at a nearby college in Albany, NY.  I was accepted into Nursing School even though it was 3 yrs into the course.  I did very well and had the highest grades of all the students when we graduated.  It wasn't until after I started working did I realize that I had holes in my education.  Yes, I did well, very well, and had instructors tell me I should be teaching the course.  My NYS testing scores were nearly perfect.  But, from time to time I wished that I had taken the course from the very beginning as sometimes there was very basic information I had to go look up.  Or medications I should have known.  I eventually went back to get a higher degree, but instead of skiiping ahead as the testing indicated I could do, I opted to start with the rest of the class.

That is how I felt with the PSP group I was in.  Knowing nothing about the program I needed some groundwork.  Yes, a perfectionist  I am.

The LearnPSP Group teaches with tutorials starting with learning the basics of the toolbar, palettes, colors, etc. and then the results of the lessons are sent into the group addy to be graded.  Then after 10 lessons there is a test.   Much of the information I had figured out, but I've learned the past couple of weeks.  And on my sidebar you will see I passed Basic PSP 101~LOL!

Now on to filters, and plug-ins, and brushes....Oh My!

Mau'i is getting big.  She is about 4 months now and very active.  Two days ago she found the bathtub with the laundry basket in it and I haven't been able to get her out of it.  Hehee, I suppose if I turn on the water she'd leave, but for right now what ever satisfies her curiosity and keeps her out of trouble I'm not going to mess with.

She is going to the Cat Doc tomorrow for her 2nd deworming medicine, Feline Leukemia & Distemper shots.  Next week I'm taking her to the clinic up in Tarpon Springs where a Van from Animal control comes with a Vet.  They are going to spay her, give her a Rabies injection and license her free of charge if I show them that I get state aid.

Yes, I get $10 a month in food stamps.  Yes, I am a burden to the tax payers.

Hmmm, I see I have a lizard in the house.  They are welcome creatures in our Florida homes as they eat ants, mosquitoes, & palmetto bugs.  I'm wondering how long this little guy is going to last with Miss Mau'i around.

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Your graphics are great Bethe.  I still haven't decided about the Yahoo group but will certainly keep it in mind as there is so much more to learn.  For right now, I am happy with the two groups I am in.  I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well but it sounds like Queen Mau'i has settled in very nicely...grin.  Feel better GF.
Hugs, Joyce

Gee, Bethe, I sure hope you can get into the doctor's sooner.  That's a long time to wait.  I love the tag you did at the top.  I think it's a good idea to start with the basics, tools and such.  I never had that and have flubbed my way through learning them arse backwards.  I still don't know what half the stuff is on the tool bar.  I still think your tags are awesome!  Give Maui a big hug for me.  Love ya, Chris

A whole $10 a month!  It's a wonder you're not putting the government out of business.   D

Ah geesh, $10 a month!!  Well you are just draining our system now aren't you. I don't care if someone pays for or gets it for free, spaying & neutering will pay off ten fold in the future.  You are a great cat mama!!!  Congrats on doing so well with your PSP groups!

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well hon. I don't have the patience or time for PSP. I went as far as getting PSP 11 for my computer and I never use it. I'm happy enough to use any of the various editing sites they have available. You'll find Maui will be a lot calmer after getting spayed. Some cats get more loving, others more independent.
