I have missed you all so much and missed not writing. So many things have happened.
My Laptop came back to me yesterday via Fed Ex. I was so happy I almost jumped the poor delivery man's arms! He grinned and said I was the happiest customer he has had in a long time 
The "T's" and "5's" now work and the desktop icons no longer flash like they are on ACID!
Yes, after the Tea spill working with this laptop was quite the challenge. Bill, who is my friend Sandy's husband and a software tech, was sure the only thing my laptop would be good for would be "a doorstop". 
So far the only difference I find is that the keys make a (much) louder tapping noise as I type. Slightly annoying, but livable. I was considering getting an HP laptop and giving this "Gateway" to my daughter. But, it is just the right size for my poor little arthritic fingers. The HP I was looking at had a huge keyboard with all the numbers on the right. But, for me, simple is better. And the best part....it didn't cost me a thing. The warranty is still in effect. So, I've decided when I find a Laptop with 3-4 GB of memory I'll buy.
The Man....ART
We've been seeing each other every day since early December. Every day, except the 10 days I was did the Chicago/Colorado trip.
We went to his Innisbrook Holiday Party a week ago Friday. Sandy & Ihad a great time shopping the day before for all the things I needed.
I bought a New York Jones dress, Sapphire Blue, silver strappy shoes to match the art deco embellishments on the dress. We were looking for some Marcasite jewelry, which turned out to be rather difficult. We went to Macy's, Dillards's and finally I found some simple earrings at Penney's. And they were Marcasite. My daughter had a Y shaped necklace in the late 90's and it matched the earrings. I even bought a new strapless bra (30 bucks at Macy's) and a pair of Spanx for that ultra smooth look (& I've gained a little holiday weight).
Several people here at Bay Aire wanted to see us dressed up. So after Art picked me up we went over to my neighbor Nancy's place. Stopped at Sandy's and then to Art's neighbors, Earl and Judy. He kept saying, 'We have to hurry, we have to hurry". And being in a hurry, didn't even mention if I looked nice (or not). It actually felt as if we were going to "The "Prom" the way people made such a fuss.
Dinner was good, not great for a 5 Star Resort. The DJ's choices of music didn't seem to go over too well as not too many people were dancing. Art was beer from the bottle. Rather tacky, but so were the other men at the table. I drank wine. Every time a song came up were we could dance, I had to do the asking. I wondered.....He had told me he liked to dance, so why didn't he ask me. The DJ played only 1 slow song all evening, I waited, and even mentioned, "now would be a great time to dance". Nothing. He kept disappearing during the evening....Smoking? Sneaking a extra drink? When we got home he gave me a kiss good night. Didn't walk me to the door.
Saturday, I had invited him for dinner. All I was making was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and vegetables. He said he was tired. Sunday, he called..told me he had problems with his stomach. Monday afternoon, Heather came for her 2 day visitation. I asked him if he wanted Heather to have her nails done again (toes and fingers) like me Tuesday. He said he'd let me know.
Tuesday Morning.....I called him because he had a pressure washer in his car that he borrowed to wash my place. He came over, hooked it up, and for some reason it didn't work. Again I asked him about us girls getting our nils done and I heard the words, "I'll call ya". Which in "Single Talk" means "I won't call you". That was a week ago yesterday.
This past Monday night I popped in his place to give Heather some pink knit mittens I had promised her. When Heather answered the door she said," My daddy said we can't come see you and Jasmine no more!".
What I think is that when he kept disappearing at the party he was seeing the 30 year old secretary he had danced with and had such a good time with last years party.
To tell you the truth if he can't talk to me, it's time to move on. My heart isn't exactly broken. Sandy is more upset about it than me. She keeeps saying, "I thought he was such a nice guy", "All the money to dress nicely for HIS company party and then to get dumped"

Sandy's mother lives in Kentucky. Last week Sandy went up to Kentucky when her mother had a heart attack. Apparently, she needs triple by-pass heart surgery. The stints have closed up that were inserted previously and the backside of the heart muscle is "dead"now from this most recent infarction. She has 20% heart function. Not good. Her Mother was in CCU for a week and on a balloon pump to increase cardiac function. But, after a few tests the pump was discontinued. There is nothing that can be done. She was discharged to a nursing home. Sandy came home.
This week Sandy's brother is closing up the apartment at the assisted living facility. Sandy wants to bring her mother here. Monday nI got a call about 9 pm. I thought the worse, her mother died. No.....There had been 15 layoffs at her husbands work place and he doesn't feel like now is the time for him to take a week off to help bring Sandy's mother down here to Florida. So she asked me if I would go with her. She didn't have to ask twice. Of course I will, that is what friends are for.
Sunday, after Sandy gets done with work we'll be heading up to Corbin, Kentucky. Didn't know where it is. Just in the "Hollar", a mining town.
DoBs
I told DoBs that I had a medical emergency and would be gone a week. Yesterday I did his grocery shopping and made up several TV dinners for next week for him. Tomorrow I'll make and freeze sandwiches for him.
DoBs Philippine fiance' is angry with DoBs because he asked her to return $1,000 of the money he sent her so he could pay his property taxes. She said if he was going to be so demanding she wouldn't come here at all.
His one son needs money for his lawyer because he is being brought up on pedophile/child molestation charges. DoBs daughter, also in her 40's picked her daughter up from Band practice at the High School and got into a 3 car accident. And she is being charged with DUI. He sent money to her for her lawyer and the daughter is presently in a Rehab facility.
Of course, DoBs said, "but it's not her fault. Her husband makes her drink". Well, that set me off....."Did her husband put the bottle to her mouth?", "She knew she had to pick her daughter up from school, she should not have drank', and one more thing I had to say, "The daughter could have been killed! They both could have been killed!!"
He is sending all these grown-up people money to stay out of jail. He now is selling off 2 parcels of Lake Michigan Lake front property to cover all this. Selling it cheap, very cheap.
Did y'all really read this far? I only hope it all makes sense, this really was the Reader's Digest version.

Glad to hear you got your laptop back in working condition. I'm very sorry, though, to hear how Art decided to exit the relationship. I know people don't like confrontation, but he really should explain after all the time you two have spent together. Oh well, let it be, I guess. Dobs family sounds like a continual train wreck, geesh! Sorry to hear about Sandy's mother. You are a true friend to go to Kentucky to help bring her back with Sandy. Eh his loss. What a jerkoff. Didnt even have the guts to break up with you...you had to hear it from his daughter! Who needs that anyway. Just hate that you spent all that money on the duds just to have him do that. What a lump of poo.

Yay...my sweet Bethe is back ~ I missed you a lot!!! Wow, so much has happened. I am so disappointed Art turned out to be such a shmuck..the least he could have done was talk to you in person. I don't like antics like that. He doesn't deserve YOU. It was good catching up on everything.

I would LOVE to see a photo of you guys all dressed up!! That's the thing here in FL -- dressing up is such a big deal that people come out of their homes just to see other people dressed up. LOL It's one of the things I love BEST about Florida. Nice and laid back the way I like it. Then, when you DO get dressed up, it's SPECIAL!!! I'll bet you were a KNOCKOUT!!
So it's Art's loss, for sure, and I agree with whoever said he's a snake for making his kid tell you. OMG, that's wrong on so many levels. I'm sending you an email that explains Art's problem....the DOM!!! (dirty old man, lol)
SOOOOOO sorry about Sandy's mom. You are a great friend to help her!! Of course, she'd do the same for you....that IS what friends are for!! Have a safe and productive trip, Bethe!!
Poor Dobs.....more like the First National Bank of Dobs, these days. :( Unfortunately, he just enables them all to continue NOT growing up by giving them the $$$ they need to fight their battles. :(
