Question Of The Day

What is your favorite Season?

It used to be summer when I lived the Adirondacks Mountains of New York. Hiking biking, canoeing, camping, swimming.   But, then I move to Florida.  Although our summers are not nearly as hot as everyone thinks, last summer really kicked butt.  And then there is always the threat of evacuation during tropical storms.  Ugh!

Now, DEFINATELY Spring.
All the "Snowbirds" go home and Florida's roads are not so congested.  The weather is more predictable and there are many festivals, outdoor art exhibits, and  outdoor concerts and plays. Temps are always mid-70's to mid-80's, perfect for someone with medical problems.  After mid-May the chances of hurricanes and tropical storms increases and thunderstorms occur daily from 4 pm to about 9 pm.  That is fine....I love T-storms and sounds of rain on the roof.

Hmmm? Except for the time my place was hit by lightening a few years ago-damaged my central air conditioning, fan & vent over stove and a few other electrical appliances

Did you know that Tampa Bay area, which includes Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, is # ! in the nation for number of lightening strikes per minute in the nation? In a 15 mile radius it is not uncommon to have 300-600 lightening strikes per  minute.  It's quite a show!  Just an FYI....the "Tampa Bay Lightening" hockey team was named because of OUR lightening.

Anyway, the days are longer, the sunsets spectacular and the air not as humid as in the summer.  And life in the RV park settles in to a nice slow pace and when all but 20 of us full-time people go home, there is a whole lot more elbow room.

That is mine...How about your favorite season?

I love summer!  I also like spring and the falls ok too... could we somehow delete winter?

I think I mentioned to you once that I had heard that Florida has two seasons....hot summer and mild summer. So my favorite HAS to be mild summer -- that lovely season from November through April, which roughly matches up to Winter/Spring for the rest of the country. :)

Hugs,
:) Carol

It's a tie between Spring and Fall.  I think both seasons are just beautiful.  I can do without winter.  Summer here in PA can get terrible with the humidity.

Definitely Summer. In summer I can mow to my hears content and smell that fresh green grass. There are flowers everywhere...the garden is planted and in full swing, the pool is open and inviting on a hot sunny day. Everything is dry, not cold and muddy. I love to hear the crickets and frogs sing at night. Everything is ALIVE! I love Summer. I know when we retire to Florida I will love it just as much. :)

Would have to be spring, love the feeling of coming out of a long winter to warmer sunshine and the beautiful flowers.  Holy cow, that is a lot of lightning strikes!

LOVE storms (knew that about Tampa...lightening is SO exciting).  My favourite season is still Winter.  I think, in part now, mostly because I don't really get to have one anymore. ;)  C.
