I finally did it, I bought the table top grill I wanted! It was too cold and windy last night to use it, so I am hoping today it will warm up enough to fire her up!
She's ready & waiting.
The man across the street whose grill I had admired put it together for me.
His reward ~ what else? Strawberry Shortcake!
I also gave some to Neighbor Nancy, Marty, and her husband. Hopefully, my son will stop by to see is 'ol Mama today. I've got Shortcake for him, also.
I still have half a flat of berries to wash, de-stem, and slice. Those are going to be frozen.
And I'm going to check recipe sites for freezer jam. Hmmm, maybe I need another flat.
Mama SnowBird called me last night crying. She is selling her trailer to a friend and will not be coming back to Florida. She stays with my brother 6 months out of the year in Middletown, NY, but will again be staying all year. "She'll never see 'me' or Marc again". I told her it's really the best thing given her health is so bad and she can't take care of herself. She's been in the hospital 4 times in four months. None were truly justified except for the last time.
Now she wants me to go online so that if & when she get the money for the trailer she can take my brother to Disney World. Normally I wouldn't mind, but geezzz, I'd like to go, too.
Talk about torture!
We'll see if she really sells it. The woman she is selling it to is let's say ..not too reliable, and 'rough around the edges'. Every year Mama Snowbird says she is going to sell her trailer, so we'll just wait and see what happens.

Ugh, I would hate to sell and move back up north. Hope things work out for her, and she takes you to Disney World also...lol. Love your grill! Believe it or not, I grilled hamburgers yesterday on our big gas grill. We grill all year long. I just put on those boots and gloves and trudged through the snow. The wind was blowing but the grill didn't go out. Happy grilling! HUGS Chris
It must be hard for your mother to stay in New York, but for the best if she is unable to look after herself. You keep talking about Strawberries, making me salivate ..lol, bet you can't to try out your new grill, I also love BBQ's.

Man talk about choosing one kid over the other-that's my mamma ya got there kiddo-yeah-if mom has something to 'give' away she offers it to everyone under the sun -if 'they' don't want it she lets me know she is putting it up for sale and if I want it I can pay the asking price....nice huh??!!

Love the picture of Oyster Bay, it looks like somewhere I would love to just sit and relax. I hope it works out with you mom, tell her you want to go to Disney too! Your grill looks great, gets me thinking of grilling season. :)

LOVE D's graphics. Aww...poor Mama...those changes are always so difficult. Nice table topper there! I'm in the market for a new grill, myself. ANNND...I really think I'm going to finally get my smoker this year, too. ;) C.
