I am just Urked. Hurt. Disgusted.
I did it. Mama Snowbird asked, so I did it.
Because I worked at Disney World at the main Ticketing & Reservations center (as well as teaching dance at the Wild Horse Saloon) my mother asked me to see if I could get a good deal on rooms and tickets for her and my brother.
Okay, I should not have.
I thought about just letting it be. After all I am not invited. Curiosity got to me and I went online yesterday and found some terrific prices.
I called MamaSnowBird today with the information, and told her that the price I was quoted for the room at the Coronado was for a Florida resident. I told everything shee needed to do to get the Florida Resident discount, ie. take her Id card or go get a Florida driver's license for proof. The price was far less than what my brother found online.
Most people fly in on Saturday or Sunday, the parks are usually very busy on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. I booked a room for them from Thursday, April 17th to Sunday, April 20th. Once the 2 of them have the room all they have to do is go to any ticketing booth and get a 2-3 day pass. Which ever they want.
She again said she'd prbably never see me again and starting sniffing. I told her I was hoping to be invited AND I did tell her that by planning the little trip that I'd like to go on ~ I was hurt.
She said they are going on their way home and there would be no room inthe car for me. It's only and hour and half drive. I used to do it every weekend. We could go for a few days, come back, then pack her car for her trip home.
Given all the drama that occurred last November.... all I can do is shake my little blonde head and just accept it.
I'll be fine ~ I'll be better than fine.
Marc did come over yesterday and we watched movies & he played on the puter ~ My Space. I christened my new grill by making packets of stir-fry veggies, tilapia, soy sauce and wrapping in aluminum foil. Tossed them on the grill, 1/2 hour ~ Viola!
On the grill tonight ~ Salmon with sliced lemon.
I've got a busy week this week.
The Activities Committee of the RV park meets every Monday. My presence required because I am secreaty. I 've done it for 2 1/2 yrs and because my health seems to be worsening this is going to be my last winter doing the secretarial duties.
Tuesday I am meeting my J-Land Buddy Carol at Countryside Mall for lunch. I've been looking forward to this for a long time.
Wednesday is Weight Watchers, Yoga, and Physical Therapy.
Thursday, another eye exam to see if the optic nerve damage has worensed over the past couple of months. Reading seems to be taking longer and I'v enoticed when I go grocery shopping items on the shelves not longer look 3 dimensional. It's all very strange.
I used to express myself through dance. Since that is no longer possible my passion has turned more towards my photography, I only hope my photos don't look blurry. It's good for the soul.

Carol! Would that be our "Larazi" Carol? I think she told me she was meeting up with you...aww I think you two should hold up a sign that says HI ROBIN and take a pic for me. Hope you had fun, and I can totally understand why the disney trip hurt your feelings. Hang in there and enjoy that grill!!! Might have to change your journal name to "Palm Harbor GRILL MASTER!"

I can understand why you feel hurt by Mama snowbird, but don't dwell on it, theres little you can do, how nice of you to make those arrangements for them I hope they appreciate and enjoy it. I love Tilapia, and Salmon too see your making me hungary again..lol

Sorry to hear your feelings have been hurt by Mama Snowbird ~ perhaps she isn't realizing how inconsiderate she is being. I commend you on taking care of the reservations, that has to be a tough pill to swallow. Your grilling sounds great!

Your photos are just lovely. I wish I could take nice pictures but don't have much skill in that area. That's a shame that you planned the Disney trip but can't go. I would be hurt also but my family has its super duper quirks also. At least you had a good day at the mall. HUGS Chris
