ACALMATION

I've been a very busy playing Mama today...talking, touching & holding kitty.  She let me hold her close and I was able to hold her up....and yes, she definately has "Girl Parts".

Ingrid insists that the kittens are 3 moths old.  But I say , Nahhhh~8 to 10.

Kitty had a bath because when I held her up I also checked for fleas.  She was crawling with them.  So after her nap this afternoon I gave her a bath in Dawn detergent.  The water was brown with dried blood from the fleas!

Checked her ears and there was brown Yuk in them.  I'm not sure if this was flea crap or ear mites.  I'm waiting a week or so to take her to a Vet as she needs to get used to me handling her first.

She finally ate a small amount of wet food tonight and urinated after her bath onto the towel.  I'm pretty sure she is a little dehydrated. She doesn't seem interested in the water I have for her in a cup.

Today after her bath she was sitting on my chest. She reached up and touched her nose to mine.  I took that as a good sign.  And she hasn't extend her claws.  Not even when she is climbing on me.

The bites I got from "The catch" yesterday are doing good.
No redness and just a little soreness.

Here is the video from my web cam.

I'll warn you it is about 6-7 minutes long.  We had a loooong day!

*And don't look at me.  Having a kitten is like having a newborn in the house.  I took only a quick shower while she was napping-didn't do my hair or makeup.

Now we need a name for her.....

Oh sooooooo cute, Bethe!! I'm so glad you got her - how fun!! Lots of work, too, I know, but she is already coming around! I wouldn't be surprised if she's closer to 3 months than two....she looks bigger than and of my kitties were when we got them at 8 weeks. Eh, who cares anyway, she's a baby and needs a mommy like you!!! Have fun with her, Bethe!!!

I can't wait to see the video but I'm not home..boohoo.  You are making great progress with her.  She is coming around quickly.  If she is enjoying the wet food, mix it with water that way if she eats it she will get some hydration as well.  You can also give her baby food (all of my kittens loved the veal & chicken)..mix with water & warm up a little.  If she isn't drinking on her own it is a good way to hydrate.  You are an angel...yeah, they are like a newborn!!!

Cute video...but I didn't get any sound.  She will soon be in to everything.  I had a baby calico once, bottle fed it baby's milk and moist food.  Named it Callie!  Hey....Callie!!  There's a name.

Ahhh Beth she so cute, at least she's starting to trust you now, that's the main thing, thing is with fleas you'll have to treat your trailer as they get into everything, and the vet will clear her ears out, so she will be as good as new.

She is precious, Bethe!  I'd say she's at least 10 weeks old.  The video is adorable.  I can't believe she let you bathe her without a ruckus.  Our Mocha doesn't need one often....good thing...there is soap and water everywhere with two people holding her down.  This one looks like she will be a nice pet.  HUGS Chris

That was adorable.it sure didn't take her long to tame down.
She looked puzzled when the top was off her crate.
And she even goes back in on her own.Yep-I'd say she has made herself to home.
I don't know if you visit this journal but there is another cat that has made itself to home.Check out http://journals.aol.com/bojgill4375/there-is-only-1-today/entries/2008/05/28/a-new-kid-on-the-block/1332
BTW-I sent ya the tube of the lady in the pink dress and a few others in case you like them.
Have a great eve

Awwww, she is so sweet & soooo easy to work with for you.  She is going to be one sweet little lady for you.  I cannot bath any of my cats without getting ripped to ribbons.  I loved the video!!!

OMG... she is precious!!!  Best of luck with her!  She looks about 5 months I would say!  Enjoy!

I have a name suggestion... I think since you have Jasmine which is a fragrant flower you should do another for the kitty, like Iris, Rose, Daisy, Buttercup... etc.

Keep us posted!

be well,
Dawn

Wow! She let you give her a bath! That is something most cats don't like.. the ones that I have known. lol That is great. My husband has told me they are all female. My cats drank milk. They loved it. They still drink milk every evening. lol They are spoiled! Normally my cats stopped getting milk but my kittens were wild up to 8-9 months old?? They are big cats even though mother was small, wondering if the milk helped them get big and healthy. Biggest cats I have ever owned. Looks like things are going really good for you, I am glad. Have a wonderful week. Janie
