BYE BYE SNOWBIRDIES

One of mine

I'm not doing too well keeping up with my journal or my Email.  Sorry everyone...2 days in bed and I'm lost in a mountain of Alerts and Email.

Today we had more rain than we've had in a long time.  Not nearly as much as we need, but it at least I didn't have to water the plants as I've been doing everyday.

The population of the RV Park has gone from 300 or so people to 25.  Yep, 2-5!  The elbow room is wonderful!  The gossip factor has also decreased by the power of 300.

One of the best thing about SnowBirds is that when they leave they bring me "donations" of food left from their refrigerators.  Most of it is Ketchup, mustard and salad dressings.  Last year I counted 11 bottles of salad dressing.  This year seems to be the Mayonnaise year and pickles year.  I have 2 Kraft mayo, Hellman's Mayo.  I have 2 Hannaford's Mayo and 2 Miracle whip.  I have Kosher sandwich sliced pickles, I have Dill pickles, I have sweet pickles and Bread & Butter pickles.
At least the all those pickles can go with all the sandwiches I'll be making with all that Mayo!

I have 2 kinds of frozen chicken wings, Buffalo & Honey something, and a couple of bags of frozen cheese Ravioli.  Meat ~ 2 steaks (eaten the same day I recieved), Spare Ribs, Waffles, and a Cornish Game Hen.
Hmmm, the Cornish Game Hen is a first : /

Scott, from across the street, came for dinner tonight.  I felt like cooking so I dug some chicken thighs out of the freezer, defrosted them in the microwave, seared them in olive oil, added spaghetti sauce and just simmered.  Also boiled some spaghetti and cooked green beans.  Scott seemed appreciative.  And he said thank you for dinner before he left.  Now I suppose that by calling when I wasn't feeling good (although he said he dialed my number by accident), buying "my kind" of wine for his refrigerator and coming for dinner he is showing he is interested.  But it sure would be nice to know for sure.  He doesn't touch my hand and hasn't even been with in kissing distance since last Wednesday.  God, I hope he hasn't found this journal ~ Yikes!

I had my hair cut yesterday in the cute little pixie cut the girl gave me last time.  I was looking in the mirror and noticed how dull the color is getting and asked the hairdresser if she could do highlights.  This was quite a big step for me as  I have never dyed it.  It looks strange to me.  It's not the same kind of blondness I get from the sun.  And it almost has a green tinge to it.
I haven't washed it yet, so tomorrow I'll see what it really looks like.

This weekend I'll probably go to the beaches with my son Marc or Scott.  Caladesi Island, that is only a few miles away has been ranked as the #1 beach in America.  And that includes beaches in Hawaii and California!
It's been 2nd or 3rd on the list for yrs.  Now #1!

I noticed a LOT of empty lots there last week when I dropped you off, Bethe -- and I thought to myself, it must be nice to get the place back to yourselves again with the snowbirds fly north. Lots more breathing room....and mayonnaise!! LOL Maybe you should make some potato salad or something.

Yeah, I wonder what's up with Scott? Maybe he just wants a friend? Who knows? With him living so close by....within steps of you....maybe it's best to be cautious anyway.

Hey, I'd love to see your new do and highlights -- post a photo if you get a chance, okay? Have a great weekend....and YAY, Caladesi deserves to be #1!! Ft. DeSoto beach was #1 a coupla years ago, too. Pinellas Beaches Rock!!!

Hugs,
:) Carol

Hi SunnyBethe,
I haven't heard anything in a while from you, I have posted some grilling recipes and have a ton more to get posted.

Have a good day even though it's raining

I agree with Carol...post a pic of the new hairdo!  I've noticed the snowbird population on base has thinned out...I'd like to see it thin out MORE.  LOL

You could make some potato salad with all that mayo and pickles!

Bethe, why not grind up the pickles, mix them with the mayo and advertise it as Snow Bird Sauce?

great tags hun keep it up you will be way better than me. Snowbirds?

The tag is super duper adorable, Bethe!  I have to read backwards.  I didn't realize you were sick.  I have shingles myself and will never catch up on alerts and journals.  Sounds like your guy is interested; maybe just moves slow.  My BF moved very slow at first.  HUGS Chris

I'm weird about food from other peoples' refrigerators...especially perishable stuff.  I'd have thanked them politely and then dumped it all in the garbage.  I have issues...lol

Well the snowbirds certainly do keep you supplied with condiments & dressings!  I cannot imagine how nice it must be without all those people around...and I bet the gossip does go down!!  Sounds like you & Scott are enjoying your time together, I would say he is interested even if he won't.  LOL

I know you are loving the elbow room! It must be wonderful. I am behind on alerts myself, but I just pace myself. I will get to everyone sooner or later! Love your tag, its really cute. Maybe Scott is just taking it slow, no need to rush it. Hugs, kelly
