Road Trippin'

Sandy called Friday afternoon to ask if I'd go with her to Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Her daughter and 11 yr old son move there from Chicago 2 wks ago.  Turns out the had to start work and didn't have anyone to watch him.  So Sandy thought the best thing was to bring her grandson here.

I guess the daughter found and rented a house online.  It's one of those you rent from month to month & in a very bad neighborhood.  The whole situation was a bad plan...strange city, summer vacation, no support network.  She didn't think this move out and how it would effect her son.  JMO: /

So we packed a bags with clothes for 2 days and drove 240 miles north on I-75 Friday night, the remaining 360 Saturday, then 600 miles back on Sunday as she had to be back to work in the RV Park office Monday morning.

It was a little more than a 12 hours trip each way in a very small car.    Sandy has a 4 cylinder Rio.  It's similar to a Pria. Think Go-Cart.  Twelve hundred miles in a Go-Cart.     Not a good traveling car.  Poor little car could barely make it up the hills.  And Georgia has the worst, absolutely worse roads.  I have never been through Georgia when I-75 wasn't under construction, but nothing ever seems to get done.

Oh, I did a boo-boo, too.  Sandy has always taken the bypass around Atlanta.  From talking with the Snowbirds here in the winter most take just take I-75 straight though Atlanta.    It's 6 lanes going north and it was Saturday.  Well, 4 lanes were closed for construction.  And there was an old car with a U-Haul broken down in the right hand lane taking it down to one lane.  Sandy was not happy with me.

Ut-ohhh....Mau'i just discovered the laptop cursor.

Mine look like they are watching a tennis game with the cursor, funny.  The road trip sounds dreadful!!  Is this the same woman you went yard saling with that one day who kept getting lost and making all kinds of turns and stuff in traffic??  You are daring if it is!!!  Glad you are safe.

Wow, that was quite a rode trip.  I rode from Pittsburgh to Naples in the front seat of my son's Mustang.  By W Va., I was pillow sitting.  LOL...I flew home.  Our Mocha loves to lay on the monitor and grab at the screen saver.  HUGS Chris
