These sidebars are snags I found that needed to be tagged. I provided the words and asked Debbie, of Deb and Steph's Design's, to use her creativeness on them.
These are what she came up with.

I think they are AWESOME~ Thank you Debbie!
Do you know which movie was the inspiration?

I've been busy going to doctors and physical therapy for my back and legs this week. Darn 'ol FM! I was suppose to go to the Opthamolgist to see if there was any progression of the optic nerve damage over a month.
But, he called-in sick.
Rescheduled for a visit in 3 weeks.
Had lunch with Mama Snow Bird Wednesday at a local mexican Resturant. It was the final day of her course of antibiotics & prednisone. She is feeling better and her breathing definately better.
Apparently the Doctor put in an order for her to be evaluated for home care. She was evaluated and told she would be eligible to have an aide come in to help her bathe for $75.00 per hour! Out of pocket!!
One year for Christmas I gave her a gift certificate to have her hair washed at the hair dressers every week while she was in Florida. Since then we found that she can have her hair washedand conditioned at the Walmart, across the street from her, for three bucks.
She says she needs someone to do her house cleaning which home health doesn't do. I told her she could have Merry Maids come in every other week for less than $50.00. She says she won't do it this year, maybe next.
Mama Snow Bird likes people waiting on her. She didn't keep a clean house when I was a kid. Doing dishes, dusting, and vacuuming are still not her thing. Neither are sweeping, mopping. YUCK .. you may think, heck I hae a hard time with it.
. Her trailer was spotless, even smelled of bleach, when I set it up for her 3 years ago. All she had would have to do was do a little each day or each week. I cleaned it after she returned home after staying in it for 6 months the first year. But found she hadn't picked up a crumb, and that's literal, in the six months she was there.
Marc was stopping in to see her on his way to work each week. He says "it's bad" and the past few weeks he has been going to work on cleaning about 3 hours a week. He's cleaning machine! OCD has its advantages ~ If anyone can 'degerm' the place he will. She lives too far north of me for me to go up there, clean, and take a bus back. I'd want to get it done all at once, an physically I can't do it.

I have a question for you all....
Someone may ask me where I got some something....I'll say "It's Walmart's". My daughter pointed out to me that when I say I am going shopping I say, "I'm going to Walmarts. On the outside of the building it says WALMART". She's right.
I am wondering if this is a "Florida thang" or if people in other parts of the country (or other countries) say "WalmartS" also?
The song is As Time Goes By as played in Casablanca in 1942 and Sleepless in Seattle in 1993.
It was sung by Rudy Valle' who had recorded it back in 1931. Because of the depression very many people bought records or even heard the song until 1942 when Casablanca was released.
Louis Armstrong is usually given miscredited for the recording.

Casablanca is one of my personaly faves... as is the song. That is great your son is helping to clean...you can't... too physical. You have enough on your plate.
be well,

Who Knows, Is it soda or pop there?
I love those sidebars and love what Deb did with them. LOL at your mom. I do not like to clean. I do but don't care to. I would take a Merry Maid in a hot second if someone would send one here...lol. I think Walmarts is a Fla. thing. Lord have mercy, I could write a book on Pittsburgh and southwesteran Pa. slang. Ugh. Love ya, Chris
We say "Wally-World" instead of Walmart.
We say Wally-mart here.... I have watched Sleepless in Seatle at least 100 times,LOL-it always ends the same,LOL
Glad to hear momma snowbird is up and doing better.
Rudy Valle was a great singer but I do like Louis Armstrongs rendition better....
have a great day my lil foxie
~c~
Well, Bethe, I only live a few miles south of you and we say Walmart here...no "S" and honestly, I have never heard anybody say Walmarts....unless it's possessive, as in "That vase is Walmart's." LOL My husband is a rare Florida NATIVE (born/raised in Tampa) and he says Walmart, too. ;)
It's GREAT that Marc is a clean freak and can help your Mom. With all that you are dealing with, cleaning her place, too, is just too much for YOU!! I agree -- she needs a maid to come in every coupla weeks to do the basics. Maybe she could find someone in the park where she lives!?!
So what do you say, are we on for next week?? Let me know...
Hugs,
:) Carol
Those are beautiful! I am glad your Mama is feeling better now. I think as we get older, well I know a lot of folks do this, they tend to not clean so much all the time...I know my cleaning has slowed over the past few years. I have heard folks say both Walmart and Walmarts. Hey, whichever, I know where they are talking about. ;)
Great sidebars and you came up with great words to put on them. I laugh at your mom! I must be a lot like her cause lately, I really hate cleaning! I'm glad she's doing better. Enjoy your day.

LOVE the first one...:::SIGH:::... Your mom gives me giggles...sorry...sounds like a pistol. I say Walmart, but have noticed that elders say Walmarts. ;) C.
It is not a Florida thing, for some reason here in PA people add "s" to everything, K-Mart(s), WalMart(s) etc.. I have no idea why. It sounds like your mom could use Merry Maids if she doesn't want to clean herself. I love the smell of bleach, the person who used to clean my house always had it so fresh & clean. Nothing like coming home to a spotless, fresh smelling home. I love the tags! I hope your back & legs start feeling better.

They are great graphics :o) I thought I recognised the song but I'm not very good with films lol.......Shame about Mama snow bird but it's nice that Marc goes and does some cleaning for her xx $75 an hour?? That's ridiculous!!
